August 05, 2024
GB Judo is pleased to announce the twelve judoka who have been selected to compete at the Junior European Championships in Tallinn Estonia from 5th – 8th September.
2023 bronze medallist Luke Davies will lead the team in Tallinn. The -73kg judoka has taken gold and silver medals at the Birmingham and Kaunas Junior European Cups respectively this year.
Joining Davies in the -73kg category is Irakli Goginashvili who makes his Junior European Championship debut having stepped up from the Cadet ranks in 2024. Goginashvili took silver behind Davies at the Birmingham Junior European Cup this year.
Lewis Fryer, Eryk Neumann and Daniel Ede also make their second appearances at the Junior European Championships in the -66kg, -81kg and +100kg categories respectively.
Charlie Ayre makes his Junior European Championship debut in the -60kg category following a bronze medal winning performance at the Kaunas Junior European Cup in May.
With 5 medals this year, Summer Shaw is in fine form. The Camberley Judo Club judoka has taken gold at her last two events in Prague and Berlin.
Charlotte Jenman has seamlessly transitioned up to the -57kg category. The former European Cadet Championship bronze medallist has won silver and bronze medals at the Kaunas and Birmingham Junior European Cups respectively.
Jenman will be joined in the -57kg category by Chloe Link. Link, who stepped up from the Cadet ranks this year, took bronze at the Kaunas Junior European Cup before a 5th place finish in Birmingham.
