2018 English Open (Juniors and Seniors) – Entry Lists Available

The 2018 English Open for Juniors and Seniors will take place this weekend on Saturday 5th May at the Breckland Leisure Centre, Croxton Road, Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 1JD.

Registration and weigh-in:
Junior Men: 9:00am-9:30am
Junior Women: 11:00am-11:30am
Senior Men: 11:30am-12:00pm
Senior Women: 1:00pm-1:30pm
Those competing in both juniors and seniors do not have to weigh a second time, but must register at the senior weigh-in. Players must make the minimum weight for their category and produce evidence of membership and grade.

Junior:
Men: -55kg, -60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, -100kg & +100kg
Women: -44kg, -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, -78kg & +78kg
Senior:
Men: -60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, -100kg & +100kg
Women: -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, -78kg & +78 kg
All competitors must have a current BJA licence or equivalent. Foreign competitors must be a member of their national governing body and produce evidence of this as well as photographic evidence of age (eg passport). A minimum grade of blue belt is required.
Juniors must have a date of birth within the years 1998 – 2003 inclusive. Seniors must be a minimum of 14 years of age. Players who qualify may compete in both juniors and seniors. Junior categories will be completed before seniors begin.
Blue and white suits are not required. If you bring a blue suit you must also have a white suit.
Junior players must weigh in trousers and t shirt for females with a 0.6kg allowance and trousers for males with a 0.5kg allowance.
This is a ranking event for both juniors and seniors and a point scoring competition for Dan grade promotions
Only coaches with a valid coach card will be eligible to coach matside.
The top 8 players in the relevant British Ranking lists will be seeded.
There is no spectator fee for this event.
There will be a National Randori day following the competition on the 6th May 2018 at the same venue.
