Ernest Bevin College Crowned British Schools Champions

Ernest Bevin College have scooped the Simon Hicks trophy following the recent British Schools Championships in Sheffield.
With seven athletes entering the event over the weekend, they were able to accumulate 23 points, pushing Harrow School into second place with 21 points with Birchwood High School in third place with 20 points.
Each school received 1 point for each athlete that was entered into the competition along with six points for a Gold medal, four points for a Silver medal and two points for a Bronze medal.
Ernest Bevin’s victory was spearheaded by Omar Amaidia’s Gold medal in the Boys Years 10/11 -66kg category as he defeated Henry Eaton from Birchwood High School for top spot.
Other notable medal wins for Ernest Bevin included Yusuf Lallmahamood winning silver in the Boys Years 8/9 +66kg, Adem Aouicha’s bronze medal triumph in the Boys Years 10/11 -50kg and Shayden Walters claiming silver in the Boys Years 10/11 +90kg.
