Action packed weekend ahead at Pre-Cadet and Cadet British Championships

Over 600 judoka from across Great Britain will be stepping on the mat at EIS Sheffield this weekend for the 2018 Pre-Cadet and Cadet British Championships on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December.

The final month of 2018 will see some of the brightest young judo talent in the country fight it out for the opportunity to be called British Champion.

Day One (Saturday 1 December) will be the opportunity for Pre-Cadet Girls and Cadet Boys to get onto the medal rostrum.

That day will be particularly busy with over 250 judoka in the Cadet Boys competition alone.

There are a number of exciting judoka to watch among the Cadet Boys that day including the Artur Patemian (JudoScotland), Callum Bennett (Dragons Judo Academy), Harry Zain-Prosser (Judo Club Osaka) and Alexander Jenkins (Rush Judo).

Day Two (Sunday 2 December) will be the turn of the Pre-Cadet Boys and Cadet Girls with a plenty of 2017 medallists looking to regain titles or better last year’s results.

The likes of Mae Bostock (Gateshead), Tatum Keen (Bradley Stoke), Leah Grosvenor (Bradley Stoke) and Simone Cross (Bishops Stortford) are well worth keeping an eye out for that day.

As well as the judo action, there will also be an opportunity to find out more about the proposed JudoTots initiative and buy British Judo merchandise from our stalls.
