Timetables Announced for the 2019 British Schools Championships

The 2019 British Schools Championships will take place this weekend on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th March at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield.

Saturday – Years 8 and 9, and Years 10 and 11

Registration and weigh-in: 

8:15am – 9:00am – Academic Years 8 and 9
10:00am – 11:00am – Academic Years 10 and 11
10:00am – Competition starts

Weight Categories:

Academic years 6 and 7: born 1^st Sept 2006 – 31^st Aug 2008
Armlocks and strangles are NOT permitted
Male: u27kgs, u30kg, u34kg, u38kg, u42kg, u46kg, u50kg, u55kg, and over 55kg
Female: u28kgs, u32kg, U36kg, u40kg, u44kg, u48kg, u52kg, u57kg, and over 57kg 

Academic years 8 and 9: born 1^st Sept 2004 – 31^st Aug 2006 
Armlocks and strangles are NOT permitted
Male: u34kg, u38kg, u42kg, u46kg, u50kg, u55kg, u60kg, u66kg, and over 66kg
Female: u32kg, U36kg, u40kg, u44kg, u48kg, u52kg, u57kg, u63kg, and over 63kg

Academic years 10 and 11: born 1^st Sept 2002 – 31^st Aug 2004 
Armlocks and Strangles are permitted
Male: u42kg, u46kg, u50kg, u55kg, u60kg, u66kg, u73kg, u81kg, u90kg, and over 90kg
Female: u44kg, u48kg, u52kg, u57kg, u63kg, u70kg, and over 70kg.

Academic years 12 and 13: born 1^st Sept 2000 – 31^st Aug 2002 
Armlocks and Strangles are permitted
Male: u60kg, u66kg, u73kg, u81kg, u90kg, and over 90kg.
Female: u48kg, u52kg, u57kg, u63kg, u70kg, and over 70kg.

All competitors MUST bring their VALID judo licence and proof of grade (record book) to registration.

As a high number of the competitors are going to be under 18, an open weigh-in will take place at this event. Therefore, all players entering this event regardless of age will be weighed in wearing trousers and t-shirt where appropriate.

Please note that due to this, ALL competitors will receive the weight allowance and therefore ALL Male competitors MUST weigh in wearing their competition judogi trousers and ALL Female competitors MUSTweigh in wearing their competition judogi trousers and t-shirt.

For boys, 0.5kg allowance is given and for girls, 0.6kg allowance is given.

Concession Tickets include: Under-16’s, Senior Citizens, Students (must produce a valid NUS card)

Spectator tickets will be available on the door at EIS, Sheffield from 07:30 during the event weekend (all tickets are subject to availability).
