Windsor Judo Club receive Sport England grant
February 24, 2012
Berkshire’s Windsor Judo Club has been awarded a £3060 grant by Sport England.
The highly-regarded club, which launched in 1950, will utilise the money to add a specialist visually impaired coach to their training programme in addition to club promotion and a TV and projector for technical analysis.
The Clubmark bronze outfit plans to develop current players by giving them access to technology to enhance training while improving the way in which the club is marketed to help attract more players.
British Judo’s South East Development Officer Peter Beard said: “I’m delighted that the club’s small grants funding application has been successful.
“Windsor is a proactive club and cater for all levels and abilities as well as visually impaired judoka and can now provide an even greater experience for everyone who visits the club.”
Windsor Judo Club train at N.W.C.A. Hanover Way, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5NW. Men & Women train on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 20:30 – 22:00 while boys and girls train on Wednesday and Friday at 18:30 – 20:15.
