2013 British Championships for seniors to revert to original format

After feedback from High Performance Staff and Club Coaches the British Judo Board of Directors have decided the 2013 British Championships for seniors will not be open entry as previously communicated and will continue in its current format.
The top 16 judoka in each category of the ranking list (as of 31 October) will be invited to enter the event while wildcard applications will need to be made to the Performance Team.
The GB Senior Squad will be made up from the top four from the British Senior Ranking list at the beginning of week four 2013. The GB Junior Squad will be made up from the top four from the British Junior Ranking list at the beginning of week four 2013.
The closing date for entries for the juniors and seniors event is Friday 4th January 2013. The 2013 British Championships for juniors will take place on Saturday 19 while seniors compete on Sunday 20 January.
In the 2013 British Championships for cadets those born in 1996 will still be able to compete to reflect new IJF and EJU rules.
The closing date for entries for pre-cadet and cadet players is Monday 17 December. The 2013 British Championships for cadet boys and pre-cadet girls will take place on Saturday 12 January with cadet girls and pre-cadet boys competing on Sunday 13 January.
