British Judo Athletes Ready for Second Grand Prix of 2015

Tbilisi Grand Prix, Georgia
The IJF World Judo Tour returns to Georgia in March for the second edition of the Tbilisi Grand Prix. Tbilisi will be the scene for the second Grand Prix of 2015 and the first back-to-back events of the year as the World Judo Tour moves on to Turkey for the Samsun Grand Prix a week later.
Making a return from a 2 week break from competition since her bronze medals in Sofia and Oberwart and gold at the Prague European Open, Gemma Gibbons will be fighting alongside Natalie Powell in the -78kg category this weekend.
Entering her first competition of the year, Kelly Staddon (-48kg) will be raring to make an impression. Sally Conway (-70kg) and Sarah Adlington (+78kg) will also be in attendance having returned refreshed from training camps in Dusseldorf and Japan respectively.
Gregg Varey (-66kg) and Jan Gosiewski (-73kg) will be flying in from Casablanca following the African Open last weekend, along with Lewis Keeble (-66kg) who has been training hard since the Warsaw European Open.

Chamberlain and Ramsay seeking third consecutive medal wins at Pan American Open Buenos Aires, Argentina
Hoping to continue their form for a third week, British athletes Frazer Chamberlain (-90kg) and Connie Ramsay (-57kg) are continuing their tour of Pan America this weekend entering the Buenos Aires Pan American Open.
Both Frazer Chamberlain and Connie Ramsay have won back to back bronze medals for the past 2 weeks in Chile and Montevideo and will be looking to continue their good form this weekend. Joining them and looking for a second consecutive medal, after securing bronze medals in Montevideo, are Kim Renicks (-48kg) and Ashley Fleming (+78kg).
Silver medallists from last year’s event Nathon Burns (-66kg), Owen Livesey (-81kg) and Louise Renicks (-52kg) are also returning to Argentina with their sights set on the top spot. Joining Burns in the -66kg category, Liam Ashton-Farr and Aaron Turner will be looking to make an impression.
In the Men’s -60kg category, Lucas Rowe will be fighting alongside Ashley McKenzie who has just returned from the recent Japan training camp.
Also competing In Buenos Aires this weekend are Danny Williams (-73kg), Andrew Burns (-90kg), Adam Hall (-100kg) and Theo Spalding-McIntosh (+100kg).
GB VI Team train in Brazil
Following their success at the INFRAEO Grand Prix last weekend, the VI athletes remain in Brazil attending a training camp with the Brazilian Paralympic team.
