European Masters champions in Nice
October 13, 2015
Shaun Mitty and John Watt both won gold at the 2015 European Masters Games in Nice, France between 1-11 October. The Masters Games saw 29 sports in action in total and both Mitty and Watt produced some impressive judo to leave France as champions.
Mitty was coming off the back of a silver at the IJF World Masters Championships in Amsterdam and was in impressive form as he took on strong competitors from France, Germany, Russia and Lithuania and secured the gold medal in the M4 -90kg category.
John Watt, in the M5 +100kg category, took on strong French opponents backed by a partisan crowd but the British judoka proved too strong and walked away with a well deserved gold medal around his neck
Congratulations to both Shaun and John on their gold medals
