Golden Girls Petersen-Pollard and Steele lead British Judo medal haul in Hungary

Kelly Petersen-Pollard (-70kg) and Josie Steele (-57kg) both claimed gold at this weekend’s Junior Paks European Cup in Hungary.
Petersen-Pollard (pictured above) has been is golden form of late and adds gold in Paks to recent victories at the Senior European Cup in Celje-Podcetrtek and the Junior European Cup in Leibnitz.
Steele (pictured above) herself has also been in fine medal winning form recently, adding Paks gold to recent medals at the Junior European Cups in Coimbra, Malaga and Leibnitz.
Clearly inspired by his sister claiming her first European Championship medal at the European Games in Minsk, Joshua Giles (-60kg) also claimed his first junior medal, by winning bronze.
Sian Bobrowska (-48kg) also claimed bronze in what is her 2nd junior career medal.
Elsewhere Amy Platten (-48kg) and Molly Harvey (-52kg) finished 5th while Yasmin Javadian (-52kg) finished 7th on her return to the mats after last competing at last year’s World Junior Championships.
