Two Talented Judo Coaches Chosen for Prestigious Coaching Programme
January 27, 2020
Anna Maria Carbone and Tom Reed have been selected to be a part of the UK Coaching Performance Foundation coach support programme, which is designed to help coaches maximise their potential and impact.
The programme, currently in its third year, has helped nearly 100 performance level coaches finesse their practice through a blended learning approach. Coaches have the benefit of one-to-one coach developer support, cross-sport communities of practice and learning, online social learning environments and workshops delivered by industry experts to expand their knowledge and challenge thinking.
Anna Marie is a coach at Coventry Judo Club and recently won Club Volunteer of the Year at the 2019 British Judo Awards and joined the British Judo Futures Camp to Japan last October. Tom was 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medallist in addition to winning silver and bronze at European U23 Championships. He recently joined Team Bath as a coach, 17 years after joining as an athlete.
UK Coaching’s Head of Coaching, Nick Levett, said: “We are excited to welcome this new batch of coaches onto our programme, the aim of which is to provide talented coaches with outstanding coach support.”
“At UK Coaching, we are here for the coach, so I am proud that this piece of work is helping some of the UK’s most promising coaches feel more confident and competent in their abilities to help our best athletes achieve their goals and ambitions.”
“Once again, it is pleasing to have such a variety of coaches from different sports on the programme.”
