British Judo Supports #EnoughIsEnough Social Media Boycott

The football community is staging a social media boycott on their channels from 3pm on Friday 30 April until 23:59 on Monday 3 May.

This is in response to the persistent abuse, discrimination and hate being posted on these platforms. It has inspired other organisations to take a stand and declare their intention to also freeze social media activity on their own channels.

Following internal consultation, British Judo will be standing with our members from the football community, and wider sporting family, in taking part in this boycott.

We will not be posting any content on social media during this time as we call for an end to harassment and discrimination online – we stand united in our message that more must be done to protect all who play, watch and love our sports and activities.

We feel it is important that we live by the principles of our sport and as part of our wider work to promote inclusiveness, diversity and equality. Collective action such as this will be powerful in highlighting the discrimination that sadly persists across the wider community.

We will report any medal wins from athletes over the weekend, first thing on Tuesday morning following the boycott.

#EnoughIsEnough.
