Joining her is Sian Bobrowska (Hardy Spicer; Fitzroy Davies) who picked up a bronze medal at the Cluj-Napoca European Open in July and recently finished 5th at the Oberwart European Open.

Two judoka who recently represented GB Judo at the recent World and European Junior Championships, Ethan Nairne (Bradley Stoke; Pete Douglas) and Ryan Rijksen-Salman (Bradley Stoke; Pete Douglas) have been selected in the -73kg and -90kg categories respectively.

Welsh judoka Oliver Barratt (Dragons Judo Academy; Stephen Abberley) will compete in the -100kg category.

A number of eligible judoka were unavailable for selection due to following the Paris Olympic Qualification Programme and will be competing at the Perth Oceania Open following the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam.

British Judo Performance Director, Nigel Donohue, said: “The European U23 Championships play an important role in giving young judoka transitioning into the senior ranks championship experience.

“The team selected for these championships have been identified by GB and the Home Nation programmes. These judoka have proven to have the potential to be competitive at this level and competing in these championships provides additional experiences. Experiences that are invaluable in the development for judoka for LA 2028 and beyond.

“We wish the team well at these championships and look forward with interest to seeing what level of performance they can deliver in an event that we have seen much success over the years.”
