The Power of Allyship – Be an active ally

Continuing with National Inclusion Week, today we are highlighting the power of Allyship and being an active ally.

Later this month, British Judo will stage the first British Wrestling Annual Conference at the British Judo National Training Centre.

With the 1st Annual British Wrestling Coaches Conference taking place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October, bookings are now open for all BWA coaches, assistant coaches and aspiring coaches from across the United Kingdom to attend free of charge.

As part of the relationship between British Judo and British Wrestling, British Judo Men’s Olympic Development Squad and Paralympic Head Coach, Ian Johns will be leading a session on ‘Coaching the individual in front of you’ as part of the Conference.

Also, this month will see British Judo enter a training partnership with Gracie Barra WS2 BJJ Club. GBWS2’s Tuesday evening classes, starting from 4th October, will now relocate to the British Judo Olympic and Paralympic National Training Centre for Gi (7-8pm) and No-Gi (8-9pm) sessions.

The partnership will provide judoka on the World Class Performance Programme with an additional training option for BJJ and No-Gi submission grappling along with additional training partners, that will be of mutual benefit for both British Judo and GBWS2.
