Nine GB judoka set for Maribor 2023 European Youth Olympic Festival

The European Youth Olympic Festival officially opens on Sunday as Slovenia welcomes over 3,000 athletes from 48 countries to the city of Maribor.
Nine Team GB judoka will be in action as the judo action starts on Tuesday.
Tuesday 25th – Preliminary Rounds 8:00am (BST) | Final Block 16:00
Jesse Chraniuk (High Wycombe Judo Centre) enters the -55kg category as 5th seed following bronze medal wins at the Gyor and Fuengirola European Cups.
He will be joined on the opening day by Eva Ewing (Sportif) in the -44kg category.
Wednesday 26th – Preliminary Rounds 8:00am (BST) | Final Block 16:00
Irakli Goginashvili (Palavani Judo Club) has had an impressive 2023 and enters as 2nd seed in the -66kg category.
Ross McWatt (Garioch Judo) competes in the -60kg category whilst Amelia Alder (Judo Club Osaka) and Lola Hodson (Dragons Judo Academy) compete in the -48kg and -52kg categories respectively.
Thursday 27th – Preliminary Rounds 8:00am (BST) | Final Block 16:00
Derek Marczak (Judo Sensei London) enters the -73kg category seeded 4th after recently finishing 5th at the European Cadet Championships in Odivelas, Portugal.
In the -57kg category, Chloe Link (Relentless Judo) enters as 5th seed following back-to-back silver medals at the Gyor and Fuengirola Cadet European Cups.
Friday 28th – Preliminary Rounds 8:00am (BST) | Final Block 16:00
In the -70kg category Julia Marczak (Judo Sensei London) enters as 4th seed following her 5th place finish at the European Cadet Championships
