British Judo Supports Safeguarding Adults Week
November 22, 2023
British Judo is actively supporting Safeguarding Adults Week by engaging 12 staff members in the iHasco Safeguarding Adults – Level Two Training program.
This course, endorsed by IIRSM, formerly known as Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults (SOVA), combines levels 1 & 2 and caters to those involved with or assisting adults at risk. It focuses on recognizing signs of abuse and offers guidance on appropriate actions when suspecting an adult is in a vulnerable situation.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Identifying adult groups susceptible to risk
- Comprehending and ensuring compliance with The Mental Capacity Act and other relevant laws
- Recognising various forms of adult abuse and effective ways to address them
Completion of this training is mandatory under British Judo’s Ann Craft Trust (ACT) framework. ACT framework is an evaluation tool for sports and physical activity organisations to adopt safeguarding best practices for adults.
This initiative reflects British Judo’s continual dedication to safeguarding adults within the realm of sports.
