Coloured Judogi at Level 1 Competitions
August 21, 2024
Following the Judo Commission meeting in May 2024, the decision agreed by the commission to allow judoka at Level 1 competitions to have a choice whether to wear white or blue judogi when competing, and to allow them to fight in any combination, e.g. blue vs. blue, blue vs white, white vs. blue, was upheld.
If a judoka decides to compete in a blue judogi, the trousers and jacket must be matching in colour. This also applies for judoka that decide to compete in a white judogi.
It is recommended that the organisers must provide a minimum of 2 blue and 2 white belts for player identification in contest to avoid confusion and make it clear who the judoka are that will be competing.
If you have any questions about the above decision, please contact the Events team at events@britishjudo.org.uk
