James McBeath Steps Down as NRC Chair
October 04, 2024
James McBeath has today stepped down as the Chair of the National Referees Commission (NRC) due to personal reasons.
McBeath has served on the NRC for the past eight years – with the past 12 months as Chair – and while he is standing down from the Commission, he will continue to remain an integral part of judo community as he continues refereeing duties on the circuit.
We would like to thanks James for his service to the Commission and his dedication to improving Referees across British Judo.
Carol Leverton will serve as Interim Chair until a suitable replacement is appointed.
As a result of the withdrawal, it does open up a exciting opportunity to join the NRC to help develop, implement and support the British Judo Referee programmes within the UK.
If you are interested in joining the National Referee’s Commission, please email Karen Roberts (Development Director) at karen.roberts@britishjudo.org.uk stating why you would like to join the Commission. (Applicants may be considered for the role of Chair, should they wish to be, but this must be stated in your email).
The deadline for applications will be Friday 19th October.
