John D’Ambrosio nominated for ‘Change a Life Award’

UK Coaching has announced that Scottish coach John D’Ambrosio has been shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Change a Life Award’, an accolade celebrating coaches who have profoundly empowered and inspired individuals through exceptional coaching.
John has been part of Hamilton Judo Club since 1965 and works as Head of Coaching and Development. His inspirational teaching in adaptive judo, alongside his work with junior and senior judokas, has left a lasting, positive impact on many athletes.
In 2019, John was instrumental in launching the club’s inclusion programme, which now offers tailored judo sessions for 45 children and adults with various disabilities and additional support needs.
A passionate advocate for inclusion within the sport, John works closely with individuals of all ages and abilities, helping them develop foundational movement skills that are both transferable and empowering.
He truly exemplifies the qualities of an exceptional coach, helping his students build confidence, refine their skills, enhance their fitness, and above all, enjoy the process.
