2019 DISE Programme Receives UCAS Point Boost
June 20, 2019
We are thrilled to announce that, ahead of the September cohort of students onto the DISE programme, the programme has received an increased allocation of UCAS points for the programme!
The allocation of 64 points, which is higher than anticipated for the programme, will come into effect immediately.
The bespoke Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DISE) specialises in judo. The programme runs from six Performance Pathway Centres within England and will offer the opportunity for players to increase their weekly training volume while working towards a vocational qualification that is now recognised by UCAS. DISE is designed to support and complement a player’s club and area training.
Players must be a minimum of 16 years of age with English & Maths GCSE’s (C minimum) to qualify for the course. Those without the required grades may be considered if they opt in to resit the exams or complete Key Skills certificates. Students ideally must be a minimum orange belt in judo, although there is room for discussion around gradings.
With just 4 places remaining on the course, there is now extremely limited availability for the final spots.
The British Judo DISE programme is a key part of the British Judo Performance Pathway and technical & physical delivery will soon be linked to the British Judo Trademark model.
The six Performance Pathway Centres that run the DISE programme are:
Venue |
University of Bath |
Camberley Judo Club |
Comberton Judo Club |
Kendal |
Redbridge Judo Club |
University of Wolverhampton |
There will be an Open Sign Up Day to be held at the British Judo Centre of Excellence, University of Wolverhampton (Walsall Campus) on 28th August 9.30am – 4.00pm
If you have any questions about the course, why not read our Frequently Asked Questions to see if these will answer your enquiry.
