Are You A Potential Olympic Judoka?

Do you have dreams of becoming an olympian and fighting on the biggest stage in world sport? Stop dreaming and start planning. The inaugural Birmingham Junior European Cup, will be hosted at the home of British Judo, on the 24th and 25th June 2023.

British Judo plans to host this event annually as part of our junior fighters development. The aim is to provide home soil opportunities for competition and training, to develop the fighters of the future.

Following this event in June, the Junior circuit moves back to mainland Europe before the Junior European Judo Championships at the Hague in September and the Junior World Championships in Portugal in early October.

Coaches please talk to your judoka and judoka your coaches, about the opportunity this event holds.

The full outlines for the event will be released by the EJU shortly. The outlines will contain information about fees, accommodation and the full timetable. But, for any fighters planning to attend this event please consider the following:

Order your backpatch (please give yourself plenty of time for delivery)

Checking your judogi will pass judogi control and is an approved judogi

Registration for this event is done through your governing body. Any judoka eligible to represent Great Britain should register using the Judobase registration form 

Please note that coaches will also need to register using this form if they want to coach matside. This event is licenced and managed by the EJU. All fighters and coaches taking part in the event must be registered through Judobase to gain accreditation and should hold a Level 2 licence and mat side module.

Spectator tickets will be available closer to the event. Once the outlines are released we will be able to share information on how to buy tickets, the full event timetable and other exciting activities for the weekend.

Don’t worry if you aren’t able to attend in person, the event will also be live streamed through the IJF live portal.
