British Judo endorses wearing of coloured judogi’s during training
November 15, 2023
Following recent consultation with the British Judo Commission, British Judo is pleased to formally endorse the freedom of choice of colour for training judogi within our club setting.
British Judo is aware that many clubs and individuals already train in judogi’s that are not the traditional white or blue, but we would now like the organisation to take this action in support of female participation and period dignity.
The use of coloured judogi’s are for use in club environments and will not be permitted for use on coaching courses, competitions or official British Judo courses.
British Judo calls on clubs to allow its members freedom of choice when it comes to the selection of training judogi.
