Statement: 2020 British Schools Championships & Coronavirus (Covid-19)
March 10, 2020
British Judo have been in regular contact with the British Olympic Association (BOA), UK Sport and Public Health England over the past couple of weeks regarding the recent outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid-19) across the world.
We are currently taking advice from all parties and following Government guidelines issued, but see no reason why this should disrupt any judo sessions/competitions across Great Britain as it stands. We are also taking advice regarding our athletes travelling abroad for training camps and international competitions following the recent cancellations on the World Tour.
We do not feel that any judo specific advice is required beyond that issued for the general public.
This advice can be found on the NHS website and more information on the government’s response can be found here.
As always, if you feel unwell, you should not take part in ANY judo and should seek appropriate advice where necessary.
We will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis ahead of the weekend and provide updates as required.
