British Schools Judo Championships draws to close in Sheffield

Day two of the British Schools Judo Championships saw the school years 6-7 and 12-13 battling it out on the tatami for the title of British Schools Champion. Over 250 judoka took to the mats today at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

The day started with action from the school years 6-7 with the day drawing to a close in the afternoon with the school years 12-13 medal ceremonies.

The event was once again supported by numerous junior referees and table officials. 15th Mon and South Brent Judo Club member, Euan Baker was presented with the Ken Webber Trophy for outstanding young referee of the weekend by British Schools Judo Commission member, Sue Collins.

Dylan Tuckey, a year nine student and 9th Mon from Rugby Lions Judo Club, was awarded the Jerry Hicks Trophy for outstanding junior table official of the weekend, by Jerry’s daughter, Kim Hicks.
