Conway and Davis win medals in European Club Championships

Sally Conway and Nekoda Davis took home medals in two divisions of the European Club Judo Championships events in Russia and the Netherlands on 20 December 2014.
Conway’s team Galatasary Instanbul scooped gold the Golden League in first division in Samara, Russia, while Davis took bronze for Kenamju Haarlem in Hoofdoorp, Haarlaammermeer, Netherlands in the second division.Overall, it was a success; with Nekoda winning all of her fights.
The bronze final came close with Kenamju overcoming the French team 3-2 to take the medal.
Davis, who trains at the British Judo Centre of Excellence, said: “The atmosphere was electric and the crowds were cheering for our team ‘Kenamju’ Haarlem. We were the host team so a lot of the friends and family of the team members were there to support us. I was looked after very well.”
The 21-year old fought up a weight at -63kg as there were a few injuries in the category. Overall, it was a success; with Nekoda winning all of her fights. The bronze final came close with Kenamju overcoming the French team 3-2 to take the bronze medal.
