Gerry has been involved in judo all his life. Not only has he been an active judoka from the age of six, but he has committed personal funding and time to grassroots and elite athlete judo development in addition to sponsoring clubs and events.

Gerry was appointed as the Chair of British Judo in August 2023 and brings a wealth of experience to the BJA, with a background in financial, technology and software sectors. He has worked across the globe and has significant experience in Europe, the USA and Asia Pacific markets.
