England Judo Appoint Talent Development Coaches
December 15, 2017
The Sports Directorate are pleased to announce that on 4 December, we have appointed three new part-time England Talent Development (ETD) coaches.
Jason Parsons, Simon Moss and Sophie Cox will be working within the England Judo set up.
These coaches will work alongside Sandra Klinger, Lead ETD Coach and Nicole Nunn, ETD Co-ordinator to ensure our potential talented young players are developed in a way that will prepare them for WCPP when and if they reach this level of performance.
The England Squad program is a development program, which aims to prepare players with the necessary technical, tactical, physical, mental and lifestyle attributes to progress through the GB Pathway onto the World Class Performance Programme (WCPP) and achieve success at senior international level.
The key objectives are:
- TO IDENTIFY young judo players with long term potential
- TO DEVELOP (both physically and mentally), by using the right training at the right time, taking into consideration the different needs of early and late maturers
- TO EQUIP these players with the skills, experience and knowledge needed to build a strong foundation for future achievements and long-term success
