Event Outlines Released for 2019 Commonwealth Judo Championships
May 13, 2019
The outlines for the upcoming 2019 Commonwealth Judo Championships have now been finalised and are now available for download.
Following an official bidding process and a successful meeting with the Commonwealth Judo Association, British Judo announced back in December 2018 that we had been awarded the 2019 Commonwealth Judo Championships.
The event will be held at the University of Wolverhampton at its Walsall Campus – which is home to British Judo’s Centre of Excellence – a relationship which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary.
The Championships, from 25 – 29 September 2019, will be delivered in partnership with Walsall Council, and will feature a broad range of categories including juniors, seniors, veterans and visually impaired with over 1,000 athletes expected to travel to the area throughout the competition.
The event will add to the growing list of top-level European and World judo competitions to be hosted in Britain in the 2017-2020 Olympic and Paralympic cycle which has already includes the 2017 IBSA European Championships, the 2018 Veteran European Championships and the 2018 European Open.
