Finding Your Feet Coach Education Workshop – Hatfield – 21st Feb 25
February 21, 2025
By 2030, the global population aged 65 and above is estimated to reach a staggering one billion. Within the UK, falls among individuals over 65 result in an astonishing £4.6 million burden on the NHS each day. Statistics reveal that a third of people in this age group experience a fall annually, escalating to half among those over 80. It’s not just about the fall itself; it’s the fear it instils.
Finding Your Feet leverages this fundamental aspect of judo to not only teach safer falling techniques but also to reduce the fear associated with falls. This course will upskill Judo coaches to support participants with controlled falls techniques — a transformational journey from fear to confidence.
Leading Judo coach and University of Hertfordshire academic professor Mike Callan will be leading the session, the second of its kind in Hertfordshire after a highly successful launch in 2024.
This is an approved Coach Education / Revalidation course
