National Rules Seminar
March 30, 2025
British Judo are pleased to offer a Rules Seminar Revalidation Module for primarily referees and coaches, it is mainly designed to disseminate the new contest rules of 2025 and reinforce the key contest rules that are not changed.
The British seminar will be underpinned by international referees including attendee(s) from the IJF seminar.
Further to the international seminar delivered under the direction of Head Referee Director Daniel Lascau, British Judo will disseminate this valuable detailed guidance using feedback from Paris and Baku Grand Slams by this point.
GBR encourage referees and coaches to work together to understand the interpretation principles more thoroughly of what is really happening and therefore the limits of what is allowed or not and why, this will help referees to manage contests more accurately and help coaches to educate their athletes for compliance with the applicable rule set, it is hoped that athletes can learn to better manage contests within the rules by avoiding penalty situations and score more frequently once they have a better understanding of how the rules are intended to work in detail. Basic VI rules will also be presented to enable those matches to be managed more effectively.
