Final day round up from the Tbilisi Grand Slam

Six British Judo fighters were in action on the final day of the Tbilisi Grand Slam at the New Sports Palace.
In the -78kg competition, Emma Reid defeated 7x African Champion Kaouthar Ouallal (ALG), in the opening round with some great newaza, but was unfortunately defeated by Aleksandra Babintseva (RUS) in Round 2.
Meanwhile, also in the -78kg competition, Shelley Ludford had an opening round bye, before missing out on a place in the quarter finals following a Golden Score defeat to 7th seed, Zhenzhao Ma (CHN) in Round 2.
Harry Lovell-Hewitt was narrowly defeated by Giorgi Beriashvili (GEO) in Round 2 of the -100kg competition following an opening round bye. A waza-ari score enough to see the Georgian fighter progress to the next round.
In the -90kg competition, Max Stewart was defeated by 3rd seed Marcus Nyman (SWE) in Round 2, following an opening round bye. The contest entered Golden Score where Stewart was awarded as 3rd penalty shido.
Also, in the -90kg competition Jamal Petgrave was defeated in the second round, following an opening round bye, to 8th seed Nicholas Mungai (ITA).
Sarah Adlington was defeated in her opening round contest against Shiyan Xu (CHN) in the -78kg competition.
