GB Judoka set for European Judo Cadet Championships in Porec

The Croatian town of Porec plays host to the European Judo Cadet Championships this week as 14 GB Judo stars of tomorrow compete at the Intersport Sports Arena on 23-25 June.
Thursday 23rd
In the -44kg category, Fuengirola Cadet European Cup bronze medallist Emma McCabe will face 2nd seed Morgane Annis (FRA) in Round 2 after an opening-round bye.
Welsh judoka Laurence Hill competes in the -50kg category and will face number one seed Sebestyen Kollar (HUN) in round two, following an opening-round bye.
Competing in the -55kg category, Fuengirola European Cup 5th place finisher Ross McWatt will face 8thseed Roy Rubinstein (ISR) in the opening round of the -55kg competition.
After a 7th place finish at the Coimbra Cadet European Cup, Charlie Ayre (-60kg) will face Mateo Van Den Berg (NED) in Round 2, following an opening-round bye.
Friday 24th
Friday promises to be an exciting day as nine GB judoka will be in action.
Seeded 3rd, Strasbourg Cadet European Cup gold medallist Charlotte Jenman will face Maria Tsapara (GRE) in Round 2 following an opening-round bye. Jenman is joined in the -52kg category by Maddie Birri, who also has an opening-round bye before facing Sara Osmani (KOS).
Luke Davies will compete alongside Ben Levy in the -73kg category. 4th seed and Strasbourg Cadet European Cadet Cup gold medallist Davies has a Round 2 contest against Maxim Tugulea (ROU), following an opening-round bye. Levy has replaced the injured Ben Moore and will face Ivanko Djinkic (BIH) after an opening-round bye.
Sunny Doig and Chloe Link will fight in the -57kg category. 7th seed Link has an opening-round contest against Jelena Nisavic (SRB) whilst Doig will face Nika Tomc (SLO) in her opening-round fight.
Kylan Aylward and Irakli Goginashvili compete in the -66kg category. Goginashvili, who finished 5th at the Coimbra Cadet European Cup last time out, has a bye in the opening-round before facing 5th seed Abil Yusubov (AZE). The pair last met at the Strasbourg Cadet European Cup where Yusubov emerged victorious from the Repechage Round 3 encounter.
There is also an opening-round bye for Aylward who will fight Abdullah Turgutlu (TUR) in Round 2.
Olivia Delahunty will face Dominika Kuzelova (CZE) in her opening round contest in the -63kg category.
Saturday 25th
Coimbra Cadet European Cup bronze medallist, Julia Marczak is the sole GB Judo competitor on the final day of the individual competition. Competing in the -70kg category, Marczak will fight Ema Kolmanko (SLO) in the opening round.
Newly promoted IJF-A referee Graeme MacLachlan will also be on the mat in Porec.
Preliminary round action will start at 9:00 am (BST) on Thursday and Saturday and 8:00 am on Friday.
Final Block is scheduled to commence at 16:00 (BST) on each day.
