Important Changes to DBS
March 27, 2015
After a review of the current process for dealing with DBS Certificates, it has been agreed by the Board of Directors that in future only coaches/volunteers whose certificates contains previous convictions or other police information, from United Medicare, our DBS system provider, need to send their original certificate into British Judo Head Office.
Therefore, coaches who have a clear DBS do not need to send this in as it will be processed automatically at head office. This new system comes into immediate effect. New instructions will appear on the relevant web page as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, to ensure the safety of our young people and vulnerable adults, in the event that coaches choose not to share this information, we will have to consider reversing this process again.
