JudoTots Off To a Flyer at Kingsley School
March 07, 2019
Kingsley School Judo Programme are currently working closely with the British Judo Association to introduce the new pilot Judo Tots programme for children aged 3 and 4.
This is a fun way through play to help children develop their Key Fundamental Motor Skills, such as balance, co-ordination, agility, as well as improving self-confidence through mastering basic movement skills in a safe environment.
By introducing judo to children in this activity, it focuses on learning essential skills that will provide the child with a sense of achievement while developing their physical literacy, giving them a head start in developing an active lifestyle.
Kingsley School started the pilot programme in February and have been running weekly lessons within the PE Curriculum for this age group with teacher Simon Ward.
Simon has been working closely with Joyce Heron, BJA Deputy Sports Director who has supported the programme since implementation.
