Olympic success inspires new women’s class at The Budokwai

The Budokwai, Europe’s oldest and most famous judo club, will be starting the year with a new women’s session as British Judo’s Olympic medallists Karina Bryant and Gemma Gibbons continue to inspire more women to take up the sport.

The club is regarded as a beacon of excellence and has provided members of Team GB’s judo team to every Olympics since 1964.

Nadia Minardi, a former Junior European bronze medallist and multiple-time British Championships medallist, will lead the session which starts on Wednesday 16 January at 18.30 – 19.45.

The class is open to judoka of all levels who can develop their fitness levels, balance, coordination and flexibility in a no-pressure environment

Nadia Minardi said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming judoka of all abilities and encourage everyone inspired by the Olympic Games to come along and experience the sport first hand.“
