Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme Application

TASS is based out of 2 hubs that are capable of providing higher education, full time judo coaching/training and sports science and medicine support with the aim of transitioning fighters onto the GB Judo World Class Performance Programme (WCPP) and onto the Olympic or Paralympic Games.

The 2 Hubs are:
• British Judo National Training Centre, University of Wolverhampton, Walsall Campus.
• University of Bath

Fighters looking to be on the TASS programme will need to base themselves near these 2 training bases in order to receive support.

Places on TASS are limited and prioritised to those fighters on the England Talent Development Squad as well as VI fighters on the talent pathway and then to those likely to progress in the sport.

1. Phase 1 – Fighters on ETD or Seniors that medal at British & Home Nation Championships
2. Phase 2 – Fighters that have been on REDS or ETD previously and most likely gain selection to ETD or GB Squads

Fighters must be at least 16 years of age.
