Sign up for an update session on performance and IJF rule changes before 17 January

Coaches and referees are invited to attend a Performance Update and New IJF Rules workshop session on Saturday, January 25, alongside the Open National Squad Training (ONST) for Great Britain, with both events taking place at the Centre of Excellence in Walsall.

During the day, the British Judo Performance System will be explained and there will be a practical session with focus on the International Judo Federation’s (IJF) new rules that will apply up until, and including the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The day will be split into two. The morning will see a detailed presentation by the GB performance team highlighting the performance system to allow coaches to gain a better understanding of the way the system works.

Judo legend Neil Adams will lead the afternoon’s two technical sessions, supported by Paralympic lead coach Jean-Paul Bell and continental referees David McSkimming and Martin Rivers.

Fresh from attending the IJF New Rules Seminar in Malaga in January, Adams, Bell and McSkimming and Rivers will be up-to-date with their correct interpretation.

The aim of these sessions will be to discuss these changes and their impact on performance from a player/coach and referee point of view.

To book your place contact Dave Elmore, the British Judo Centre of Excellence Administrator david.elmore@britishjudo.org.uk. Tel: (01902) 518900.

Places are limited to those who reserve their place by Friday 17 January, 2014.
