Start your bid for British Championships qualification at the English Open

The 2013 English Junior and Senior Open is set to take place on Sunday 10 March at iceSheffield and will offer all-important ranking points towards the next British Championships in December.

The English Open, along with the national open events in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, is only second to the London British Open European Cup in terms of points available.

Gold at a national open is worth 150 points, silver equates to 100 points and bronze yields 75 points while a fifth-place earns 50 points and a seventh-place comes in at 25 points.

All points started accruing from 25 January 2013 and can be accumulated until the final ranking event prior to the 2013 British Championships in December. Those who qualify for the event and finish in the top four will be invited onto the 2014 British Squad.

The English Open is one of the most highly-regarded events on the domestic calendar and attracts the top domestic judoka as well as international competitors.

Judoka already signed up to complete include Paralympic silver medallist and British Championship bronze medallist Sam Ingram and former Junior world bronze medallist Hayley Willis.
