Olympic Programme Coach

British Judo is seeking a high-performing Olympic Programme Coach to help deliver its World Class Performance Programme (WCPP) for Olympic athletes. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of international judo, supporting the development of medal-winning athletes on the world stage.
As part of the World Class Programme Coaching Team, you will help drive Olympic Potential Programme delivery, working closely with coaches, athletes, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve success at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver British Judo’s Olympic performance strategy alongside the WCPP coaching team.
- Lead the coaching and development of Olympic Potential Programme athletes.
- Design and oversee Individual Athlete Plans (IAPs) through a multi-disciplinary approach.
- Provide technical and tactical coaching to athletes preparing for Olympic qualification.
- Collaborate with Home Nation and club coaches to ensure alignment across the performance pathway.
- Use data insights to inform coaching decisions and track athlete progression.

Performance Manager

British Judo is seeking a proactive and organised Performance Manager to lead the operational delivery of our performance projects and support the success of our Performance Pathway & Operations team. This is a key role where your expertise in logistics, administration, and data management will directly impact the progression of athletes and the effectiveness of our high-performance programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day performance operations and ensure alignment with British Judo’s strategy and funding partner requirements (UK Sport & Sport England).
- Manage logistics, data processes, and key programmes such as DiSE (Diploma in Sporting Excellence), TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme), and Sports Aid.
- Work closely with coaches and stakeholders to ensure athletes receive world-class operational support.
- Lead induction processes for new athletes entering the GB World Class Performance Programme (WCPP).
- Analyse and present performance data to inform decision-making and programme improvements.

British Judo is seeking a dynamic and collaborative GB Home Nations Coach to join our Performance Pathway & Operations team. This role is key in aligning Home Nations coaching programmes with British Judo’s performance pathway, ensuring a smooth and effective transition for athletes progressing from grassroots to elite levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and integrate Home Nations coaching programmes with British Judo’s performance pathway.
- Support athletes to progress into the GB World Class Performance Programme (WCPP).
- Provide high-quality technical coaching to help athletes achieve success at national and international levels.
- Collaborate with Home Nations, club coaches, and the Performance Pathway & Operations Director fostering a culture of high performance and building a unified and effective talent pipeline.

Physiotherapist (x 2)

(With a requirement to support international camps and competitions in the region of 2 weeks per year.)

£40,819 (p.a pro-rata if part time)
The UK Sports Institute and British Judo have two exciting opportunities for a part time and a full time Physiotherapist to work with their world class programme in Walsall.
Please specify within your application form if you are interested in the full time position ( 37 hours) or Part time (22 hours) position. We are also open to other flexible considerations. Please indicate on your application.
Working in a fully integrated way with coaches and the wider multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidates will play a critical role in optimising athlete availability for preparation and world-leading performance. There will be a strong rehabilitation component to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide highly specialised musculoskeletal assessment, diagnostics, management, and rehabilitation services to improve ‘return to performance’ outcomes for athletes.
- Responsible for delivering targeted systems and projects to optimise rehabilitation and mitigate health problems aligned to performance goals and aspirational targets.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of targeted performance-focussed projects through effective team working and the utilisation/integration of specialist knowledge.
- Co-ordinate the provision of physiotherapy and physical health services across the British Judo World Class Program, particularly for domestic training camps held at the National Training Centre
- Support the leadership, management, and alignment of other health care practitioners across the performance support team (e.g., contracted physiotherapists, soft tissue therapists).
- Provide a primary point of contact for British Judo World Class Program athletes and coaches for delivery relating to athlete health in the UK and overseas.
- Work independently at training and competition locations making autonomous triage and primary care decisions and having responsibility for managing complex medical presentations beyond, or alongside immediate sports injury management and rehabilitation.
- Responsible for the management of immediate emergency medical and trauma care situations in the training and competition environment domestically and overseas.
- Provide a key role in assuring medical governance standards to safeguard athlete physical and mental health.
- Contribute to cross-sport learning and accelerated development across the high-performance system through collaboration and the sharing of knowledge, experience, and expertise.
